Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has laid out his government’s plans to forcibly transfer the entire Palestinian population of Gaza.
Katz says he wants to turn the ruins of Rafah into a “humanitarian city” which appears to be more like concentration zones.
Critics say the plan for forced displacement amounts to a blueprint for war crimes.
Alon Liel is a former Israeli ambassador who served as the Director General of Israel’s Foreign Ministry. He says that it was clear that Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu was insisting on Israeli control of Gaza “in the long term”.
